The Difference Is Perspective

Most Firms Can Tell You What Happened. Shelly Helps You See What It Means.

Shelly Raab has spent more than three decades in accounting — in public practice, as an entrepreneur running her own business, and in company financial leadership as a CFO. Each of those seats sees the same numbers differently.

A preparer sees a return. An accountant sees a trial balance. A CFO sees timing, exposure, capacity, and consequence. Shelly brings all three views to one relationship, which is why her clients tend to hear about a decision before it becomes an outcome.

The F.O.C.U.S. Framework

Five ways of looking at the same set of numbers.

Shelly is the author of The Power of F.O.C.U.S. in Leadership. The same discipline she writes about for leaders is how she works through a client's financial position.

Framework
F.O.C.U.S.
Step 1 of 5

Foundation

Establish reliable books, records, and processes. Nothing useful can be decided on top of numbers you cannot trust.

F.O.C.U.S. is Shelly's leadership perspective, drawn from her writing on leadership and applied to the financial relationship — not a proprietary accounting methodology.

Founder

Built by Someone Who Has Sat on Both Sides of the Financial Decision.

Shelly Raab is a Certified Public Accountant and an Enrolled Agent — the credential that allows her to represent taxpayers before the IRS at every level. She has practiced in public accounting, built and run her own business, and carried the financial responsibility of a company as its CFO.

That combination changes the conversation. She knows what a return requires, what a lender will ask, what a payroll week costs, and what it feels like to sign for something before the cash has arrived. She has been the person asking the question and the person who has to answer it.

She founded Eagle Eye in Cave Creek to work the way she believed the work should be done: fewer clients, closer attention, plain explanations, and a year-round view instead of an April transaction.
